Chicken meat (kyllingekød)
Chicken meat
is produced by
slaughtering
the
chicken
produced in agriculture.
The main
processes influenced by a demand for
chicken meat in the
retail store are shown in the figure below.
Slaughterhouse
waste (heads,
legs,
intestines etc.) is converted into bone meal
and
meat
meal etc.
The products were previously used as ingredient in animal feed but are
presently incinerated due to fear of BSE.
The contributions to global warming from these processes are to small
to be included in the above diagram
