Butter; with quotas (Smør; med kvoter)

Butter is produced in excess from excess cream. The excess butter is exported to Russia and elsewhere where it is sold cheap. It has been assumed that butter sold in Russia does not substitute any other products and that a marginal demand for butter does not influence production processes neither at dairy farms nor at dairies. See Weidema (2003).

No significant processes except transport to Russia are influenced by a demand for butter and environmental impacts associated with butter demand are close to zero.
