Trout
feed is produced industrially
for aquaculture
trouts. Process description
The present data
refer to trout
feed production in three factories in Jutland, Denmark in 2000. The main processes
are
following
1) raw materials (fishmeal,
fish oil, wheat, soybeans, gluten, minerals, vitamins and colour)
are
grinded
and mixed, 2) the mixture
is
conditioned by heating with steam, 3)
the conditioned mixture extruded to pellets,
4) the pellets are
dryed with hot air, 5)
the pellets are cooled,
packed and
stored before distribution to
trout
farmers.
Data collection and treatment
Data (except air-emissions) have been collected from three major trout feed producers. Data are based on producers green accounts and other records from 2000. Inputs and outputs have been determined as a non-weighted average over the year from the three facories.
